The latest What Car? Reliability Survey 2020 has firmly placed Kia in the top-ten best.
The survey asked more than 13,000 car owners what issues they had experienced over the past 12 months and ranks the reliability of manufacturers based on 15 fault categories.
Owners were asked for the cost of repair and how long the process took so that the What Car? judges could give each model a reliability rating and consequently the manufacturer overall. In total, there were 131 models, up to five years old, from 31 manufacturers.
Kia scored a whopping 95.9% reliability rating including for the popular and pioneering Niro Plug-in Hybrid. Claire Evans, Consumer Editor at What Car?, commented: “Whether you opt for a Sportage SUV or an Optima executive saloon, you should be getting a dependable car; both of these models gained more than 96% for reliability. The Niro Plug-in Hybrid ranks almost as highly, with a score of 95.8%”
