Chorley Care Warranty
Not covered by a manufacturer warranty? Every used car we sell gets a Chorley Care warranty as standard.
Every Chorley Group vehicle comes with a vehicle protection plan. If you're purchasing a new vehicle from us, you will be covered with the manufacturer's own warranty which vary from 3 to 7 years. If you're purchasing used, you will either be covered by the remaining warranty by the manufacturer or signed up to Chorley Care.

What Type of Warranty Comes with My Car?
It depends on what you're buying, so let's break it down clearly.
New cars come with the manufacturer's own warranty from day one. Every brand we stock has its own terms, durations and coverage details — and some of them are genuinely impressive right now. MG and Kia both offer 7-year cover as standard. Hyundai covers you with unlimited mileage. GWM offers 5-year unlimited mileage cover that transfers to every subsequent owner. Vauxhall, Citroën and Peugeot come in at 3 years, with Peugeot electric models offering extended cover up to 8 years. Full details for each brand are linked below.
Used cars that still have manufacturer warranty remaining - that cover carries over to you, which is worth factoring in when you're comparing prices. A two-year-old car with 5 years of Kia warranty still running is a meaningfully different purchase to a two-year-old car with nothing left on it.
Used cars outside manufacturer warranty - this is where Chorley Care comes in. It's our own warranty product, included as standard on used vehicles that no longer have manufacturer cover up to 3 months. We have options for you to extend this warranty to keep you covered.
What Does a Car Warranty Actually Cover?
A fair question, and one that's worth answering honestly rather than in the vague terms you often see in the small print.
Most manufacturer warranties cover the things most likely to go seriously wrong: engine, gearbox, drivetrain, suspension, steering, electrical systems and major interior/exterior components. Infotainment systems are increasingly included too - which matters when a modern car's screen can cost a significant amount to replace.
What warranties typically don't cover: wear and tear items (brake pads, tyres, wiper blades — things expected to need replacing through normal use), cosmetic damage, windscreens beyond a short initial period, and anything resulting from an accident or misuse.
A few things worth checking on any warranty before you assume they're covered: air conditioning (regas costs are often excluded), consumables, and anything added aftermarket.
If you're ever unsure what a warranty includes on a specific car, ask us. We'd rather you knew upfront.
Keeping Your Warranty Valid - What You Need to Know
This part matters more than people sometimes realise, and it's worth being clear about it.
Most manufacturer warranties come with conditions. The most common one is that the car must be serviced in line with the manufacturer's recommended schedule - and for many brands, specifically within their authorised dealer network. Missing a service, or having it done somewhere not on the approved list, can affect your warranty cover.
At Chorley Group, our aftersales team carries out manufacturer-approved servicing across our all our sites. Keeping your car serviced with us helps ensure your warranty stays fully intact. If you're unsure about your current car's service history and how it affects your remaining cover, bring it in - we can check.
*Consumables like oil, filters and brake fluid are your responsibility to keep in good order between services. Negligence that leads to damage generally isn't covered under warranty - and manufacturers do look at service records when claims are made.
Extending Your Car Warranty - Is It Worth It?
Several manufacturers we work with offer official extension schemes that are activated through regular servicing within their authorised dealer network. Kia, MG, Nissan and others have these options available, and they can be significantly better value than third-party warranty products because they're backed directly by the manufacturer.
We'd always recommend getting the detail from our aftersales team before committing to an extended warranty - understanding exactly what's covered, what the exclusions are, and whether the cost makes sense relative to the car's age and your driving habits is important.
