General Sales Manager Role

The Role

We are looking for an experienced General Sales Manager for our Nissan Dealership in Burnley. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the role will oversee the management of the dealership with a focus on the sales side, and will have responsibility for leading, motivating and achieving and exceeding targets. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Brand Manager, Dealer Principal, General Manager or Head of Business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximising the sales and profitability of vehicles and associated products, you must possess and be able to demonstrate first class selling and marketing skills gained within the motor industry at a high level.
  • Controlling costs in line with departmental and dealership objectives and business plans, you will ensure that profit targets are achieved, margins maintained and expenses controlled, utilising all resources cost effectively. It is therefore essential that you have experience of controlling costs on this scale.
  • Regularly communicate and interact with other managers, team members and Directors to develop the business and Group ethos.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment; ensuring staff comply with Health and Safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ previous management experience within a main franchise dealership enviroment.
  • Full clean current UK driving licence.
  • Experience in setting and reviewing financial, volume and operational objectives.
  • A positive commitment to deliver the hours required to attain company targets.
  • Computer literate (especially Microsoft office)
  • Credible leadership skills, you will have practical and recent experience of effectively managing, coaching, motivating and developing your teams to ensure that performance standards are evident throughout the department. This will not only ensure strong departmental performance and customer retention but in addition staff retention, succession planning, and the management of poor performers.
